A ship and its captain finally finds a light house in the midst of a storm; This is very true in case of the ruling party congress. The Strom which is being referred here is the very popular and ever popular scam which is the 2G scam. This 2G scam has attracted almost every possible attention towards it. The captain of the ship; the Prime minister tried every possible way to continue the voyage; which is leading the government; yet; the storm is so vigorous that even an experienced captain will have to find a possible place to be boarded. Now the light house which is visible to the captain is the JPC( Joint Parliamentary committee). Let us analyze a little bit about the JPC.

The Need of a JPC

Every issue needs a solution. Looking into the affairs of the parliament becomes the ultimate work of the ministry of parliamentary affairs. Investigating an issue which let the parliament remain deadlocked comes under the same ministry. Yet, the ruling party tried so many ways to avoid this JPC. Yet, when there is no other way to go; they ultimately agreed. This 2G scam has created so many speculations with the newly nominated telecom minister clearing the air stating that there wasn’t even a scam. On the other hand the CBI had arrested the former telecom minister; claiming that there is some scam. In Indian democracy, we people are just supposed to watch what is happening around us. This situation needs a sudden change.

THE JPC

The jpc has its work cut out; with the need to investigate 2g scam. Initially it was planned to have a 21 member JPC. Yet, it was a great surprise to see parties claiming a seat in JPC. So, now this JPC will consist of 30 members.

( All parties will get equal share of the amount.. :))

This is a country where MP’s raised their hands with bunch of currency notes after a vote of non confidence motion was passed in the parliament. At that time, the honourable speaker of the house asked for an immediate committee for enquiry. Yet, that issue was closed as it would be done in Indian democracy.

Lets keep our fingers crossed on this issue. Lets hope that the truth will come to light sooner. And also lets hope this JPC doesn’t become Joint PAY COMMITTEE.
